L’union de Groupements Feminins Ce Dwane Nyee (UGF/CDN) is an association of women, created in 1978 by Mrs Jacqueline Bassolet.
By setting up the group, Bassolet has given other women who live in rural Burkina the possibility of income generating work. The phrase 'Ce Dwanne Nyee' translates as 'Strength Through Unity' in the local language of Lyele. This phrase is what UGF/CDN is based upon, as they have established a group of women working together to produce an income for themselves, and provide their own individual strength by working together.
UGF/CDN is a non –government organisation established in Reo, a small town in the central West of of Sanguie province in Burkina Faso.
The group used to be called just Ce Dwane Nyee (CDN) and was officially recognised as an organisation in 1991.
In 2000, CDN changed its name and status to Union des Groupements feminins Ce Dwane Nyee. UGF/CDN is now not just in Reo; there are 44 groups within the association and includes around 3315 members, of which 175 are men.

Community Health and Development
UGF/CDN supports the rural areas surrounding the projects by spreading awareness and giving information on issues that can affect those living in these areas. The topics include the fight against malnutrition, family planning, hygiene and sanititation, clean drinking water, the fight against female circumcision, malaria and the threat of mosquitos.
The programme puts emphasis on empowering the women in these areas by giving them all the informatino they need. As a result of the success of this programmes, the number of visits to the villages has been increased to go into further depth on subjects such as HIV and AIDS, family planning and female circumcision, which can be considered as taboo subjects in the areas.

Literacy
The low level of educated women and girls in the areas means the union has created a literacy programme in the villages where it works. Today, there are more than 9950 participants, spread over 66 villages, who take part in lessons in the local languages of Lyélé and French.
Gardening
The garden at UGF/CDN occupies an important place amongst the activities which structure the project. The priniciple products fromthe garden are onions, moringa, tomatoes, aubergines and baobab fruit.
However, lack of resource and finance has hindered the capacity of UGF/CDN to develop this activity. Faced with this, the garden at UGF/CDN is run mainly by volunteers.
